W1 Announces Semi-Main Event

Chris Clements will take on Carlos Newton

Yesterday, Top MMA News brought you the news that Denis Kang will be headlining the March 20 W-1 show in Montreal. Today, Top MMA News learned that Chris Clements will be fighting former UFC champion Carlos Newton in the promotion’s semi-main event.

Clements (6-3) last beat Mark Blackburn at Ringside last March. Previous to that fight, Clements had a one fight stop in the IFL where he lost to Rory Markham.

Carlos Newton showed up well over the Welterweight weight limit at the last W-1 show. Newton, who also fought in the IFL, beat Shonie Carter to increase his record to 15-13. This will be Newton’s third fight at W-1.
